- Unlike in the first Dark Souls, abandoning a covenant does not result in losing half of your ranking profress when switching to a new one. Instead, you lose all current progress to the next rank.
- Abandoning covenants does not count as Sin, even without leaving them through Sweet Shalquoir.
- Entering New Game plus will not reset covenant progress.
- Matchmaking is determined by Soul Memory and the item used. See Online Matchmaking for more details.
