Tips

Try to get the Chloranthy Ring early on, as it makes blocking easier. It can be found in the Forest of Fallen Giants below the room with the ballistae. You do need a Pharros Lockstone, however. This can be bought from Hag Melentia fro 4000 souls. To gain these it is advisable to kill the Heide Knight earlier on, especially since he drops the Heide Knight Sword. Try circling around him in order to backstab him. With the dagger equipped this should only take 2 backstabs on NG even with a strength and dex value of 6.
Furthermore, it is a good idea to pick the 'Healing Wares' from the gifts as the early game will be quite difficult with this build.
Also, try buying the Falconer Set from Maughlin the Armorer in Majula early on, because your Imported Set will not stand the test of time.
Last but not least, try going for the strength first as sorcery is encountered later on.
