Tips
Tons of twinkling titanite needed to upgrade all this equipment.
The second great lightning spear is for more casts, nothing else. (You have to find it, then buy it from straid.)
The lightning infusion on the sword is best because the sunlight blade buff will be more powerful.
Get the dragon chime definitely, because it is the best chime for lightning spells. (Enchanted with lightning, it's even better.) To Get: kill darkdriver grandahl, or reach rank three in his covenant. (I kiled him…)
Vengarls stuff isn't too hard to get. You have to talk to him a lot, then kill his body after the dukes dear freja boss fight.
Binoculars for sniping.
Kings shield is optional. It's a good safety net.

sounds like a nice build. what's with the gyrm armor though? does it add to your lightning dmg?
This build does work well, and it is not like your typical one. Although, the armor has no effect and I'd prefer something else… Otherwise great build!
This is hands down one of my favorite builds. Although i do have the heide lightning sword, i've been finding the thorned sword as a great alternative. Thorned great swords adds some more lightning to the offence. All and all great build good job.
The only drama with this build and a pure magic build for that manner is that it is totally nullified by a single infused shield (lightning watchers shield for lightning or magic infused magic shield for magic). Now I don't know how common it is to face either of these shields but when I'm playing for pvp I'll have one if not both of the shields.
